Woburn Abbey Wedding

Bridal Preparation

This month I had the privilege of being Terri & Matt’s wedding photographer. They were getting married at “The Inn at Woburn” which is on the edge of the Woburn deer park and estate. I arrived early so that I could take some photographs of Terri having her makeup done by the lovely Amy as well as being there when the dress arrived. It also gave me the chance to nip across the hotel to get pictures of Matt getting ready.

Although I’m primarily a Derby Wedding Photographer – being based in Derby – I do travel thoughout the UK. So, I’d been to visit the hotel a couple of weeks earlier and had been shown around by Karen Torrington the Events Manager; hence, I already knew the day’s full itinerary and where everything was going to happen. In fact, throughout the day, the bride & groom kept asking me when and where they should be!

Sculpture Gallery

I’d been looking forward to photographing this Woburn Abbey Wedding for many months as Woburn Abbey Estate is such a beautiful and photographic location. The day was very relaxed and the weather was just perfect. The ceremony took place in the Canaletto Suite then afterwards the couple stepped outside for champagne and a few photographs with family.

It was then that I put my chauffeur’s cap on and drove the couple into the estate for photographs at The Scultpure Gallery – voted by “Brides Magazine” as one of the Top 100 Wedding Venues in the UK.

On the wedding day there was a large fayre in the grounds so we headed off for the privacy and exclusivity of The Sculpture Gallery. We had a time slot of just over 30 minutes, which was plenty of time to get some great photographs of the couple and the venue.

Safari Lodge

After the meal the party caught a bus to the Safari Lodge – inside Woburn Abbey Safari Park – for the evening do, cake cutting and first dance. Terri was very excited about seeing her cake as she had designed the whole cake herself and sent off various pencil sketches to her cake maker, Helen at Sweetness and Delight, to actually make it. Terri was very pleased with the results.

I’d just like to thank all the staff at The Woburn Inn because the wedding was so relaxing and well organised. If I ever needed to know anything regarding the day the organisers were there, on hand, to assist and to make sure the day went smoothly with no hitches.

Below are a selection of photographs from the day.

If you are planning on getting married at The Sculpture Gallery, Woburn Inn or in and around Buckinghamshire, I’d love to hear from you.
